Another flitting .........

To-day Doug was moved from Ward 33 to Ward 31. He was a bit upset at the thought of the move but he seemed to get over this after it was all over.
I really would love to believe that it represents one step nearer the door out but perhaps that's wishful thinking.
He does seem to be marginally lighter in mood but can still be a bit reluctant to see folk sometimes.
Thank you all for your blog messages ... I'll have quite a lot to read out to him to-morrow. I only hope I can do them justice.

Hello Barkeeeeeee,
First off you are SO due a bootin'... which will be awesome to hear as it will probably have been yer Pops or Mops that reads this out which means they have just told you that you need a bootin'.

Cool.

OK... so hopefully Jimbo has told you that I am fat.
Yup.. it's offical. Working too hard, thats the culprit. But the end is in sight as the big job we have been working on just went live. Just a little more tidying up and things will get back to normal.

Things here are good, and my bro is coming out to visit in October which means I have eight weeks to lose some chub or I will get the piss (sorry parents!) taken out of me. Looking forward to seeing him as it has been a few years now.

Meeshy and I are also thinking of buying some more land nearer Hobart and building a real hoose and I have decided to build a barn on the grounds and then build an awesome climbing wall inside. I have had a look at the wooden kit barns on the market and found the biggest and tallest... you know me!

So... we are agreed then, I will build a super-gnarl ceh-heh-heh-lyme-ming-eh wall and you will come over to TAS and be the first to pull some moves on it!
We will also ride some of the coolest trails in the world that criss cross the mountain here in the heart of hobart, and then come back and sit on the balcony whilst cracking open some beers. I already have them set aside for you coming over.

Oh... and the other thing... as part of your rehab, Jimbo and I will be responsible for your hand eye coordination, and I prescribe 200 hours community service playing XBOX live, so that we can tan Jimbo's baaahooky all the way from OZ. We will get Bonjour and Hammer Dave online too and get a monster sesh.... we can go into work and use the projectors so we have the best view...

Meeshy and Isla are doing well and we caught the wee tot smoking after just stealing the car for a girls day out to the swingpark. Little hooligan. Actually, she is great fun at the moment and loves saying words like ball, cuppa-teee, daaaaddy, wow-wer (flower), orseeeee (for her rocking horse), melmo (for the Sesame St character of similar name) and staaaaar and moooooon. She is just is tops and loves to jump on top of her daddy. She is utter fearless and loves nothing more to slide down the bannister with her daddy after returning from work..... Yes... get in early I say... teach them the bad habits from the start.. nice one..... Meesh is mad... (heh heh)

Anyway... I will write soon and give you more abuse.

I think about you a lot mate, and wish I could be there to slag the crap outta ya, coz I know ya need it.

Take care... your fat chum.

Chin up Barks. We're thinking of you a lot. Wish we could make it over to Scotland. Dave pretty much summed it up by giving you a good verbal bootin'. Might I add that as part of yer rehab, once your done with kicking Dave's arse on his wall that you come over to the US and we'll zoom around in rally cars? I remember us doing some crazy drives up north to go biking/climbing...well now I do that legally...
I know this is tough on you but keep pushing.
Thinking of you.

Hi folks, Derm just steered me in the direction of this blog. I haven't seen Dougie for a long time, I used to work alongside him at EBC. My name is Nick Munro, he may or may not remember me. I just wanted to say how gutted I am to hear of the awful time you're having man, I think about you a lot since that big daftie Derm told me about it. It's great to read this blog and find out how much support you have. you obviously have a truly loving family who are completely there for you. That's braw. I'm surprised to hear that Davey P is fat, he used to be so buff!! Hahahaha, nice to have another member of the chubby gang. I'm glad to read that you are finding the strength to take steps Dougie, you obviously have an inner strenth which you can find sometimes. Keep hold of that old son. Take care. Thinking of you.
